ASCOT Vale resident Loudy Wiggins was denied a third Olympic medal of her diving career on the final dive of competition in London overnight.
Competing alongside Rachel Bugg in the women's synchronised 10m springboard, Wiggins and Bugg finished fourth.
Hot favourites China won gold with a score of 368.40, followed by Mexico (343.42) and Canada (337.62) while Australia finished fourth (323.55).
Diving third in the final, the Australian duo held silver medal position after their final dive.
Pushed into third position by Mexico, Wiggins and Bugg watched from poolside as the final dives of Malaysia and Great Britain failed to overtake their score.
But Canada's Meghan Benfeito and Roseline Fillion scored 82.56 on their fifth and final dive to ensure they would leapfrog the Australians for third place.
Wiggins and Bugg's best scoring dive was their fifth and final, 77.76 points for a back two-and-a-half somersault with one-and-a-half twists.
But their previous dive, a back three-and-a-half somersault, scored 70.29 which lost ground on all the other medal contenders.
