BUCKLEY Park kept its edge on Strathmore in the Women's Pennant top four race despite finishing dead level on shots as the local rivals met in division 1 section 1 last Tuesday.
Buckley Park's 9-71 to 7-71 result extended its lead on Strathmore in the race for fourth, albeit with Werribee RSL recording a big win to turn the battle into a three-team race.
Buckley Park went into the round in fourth, seven points ahead of Strathmore and 13 ahead of Werribee RSL.
But a big win for Werribee RSL against Maribyrnong Park now leaves the ladder compressed, Buckley Park still fourth on 113, Werribee RSL fifth on 107 and Strathmore sixth on 104.
Ladder leader Glenroy (176) remains a runaway at the top from second-placed Sunbury (147), while Yarraville-Footscray (145) is still a big margin ahead of the scrap for fourth.
Maribyrnong Park remains 10th and last on the ladder. Strathmore hosts Keilor from 10.30am today, while Buckley Park is away at Yarraville-Footscray and Maribyrnong Park hosts Hoppers.
