ESSENDON started its new year on a winning note in Henselite Premier Division by beating Bundoora RSL by eight shots at the weekend.
Essendon (12-88) downed Bundoora RSL (6-82) off the back of a big 31-18 rink victory by Matt Flapper.
Moonee Ponds faced little resistance in crushing Altona by 52 shots and taking all 18 points on offer.
Ponds won 18-94 to Altona 0-42, with Mark Jacobsen's 26-7 rink victory the most lopsided of the four in play.
