Premier Cricket: Essendon set a chase

17 Jan, 2012 12:00 AM
ESSENDON will need its tail to wag to chase down North Melbourne's 182 in Premier Cricket this weekend.

Saturday started well for the Bombers after sending North Melbourne in at Windy Hill and reducing the visitors to 4-49.

But a century to Carl Sandri held North Melbourne's innings together to reach 182 in 58.3 overs.

Essendon lost Ben MacRae early and Victorian representative Clint McKay for a duck, getting to 6-93 at stumps with top contributors James Seymour (33) and Ben Fletcher (25).

Louis Cameron was earlier best of the Essendon bowlers with 4-61. Action continues at Windy Hill this weekend.
