VIC Metro completed a comprehensive sweep of the AFL National Under-18 Championships with a 48-point win against Vic Country at Etihad Stadium last week.
The 9.16 (70) to 2.10 (22) victory gave Vic Metro a fifth consecutive win as it finished top of division one as the only undefeated team.
Inaccurate kicking and a skill level not befitting the best-credentialled youngsters in the state stopped the game from reaching any great heights as Vic Metro led at every change.
Calder Cannons' Brandon Ellis (West Coburg), Michael Talia (Greenvale) and Tom Sheridan (Riddell) all played in the match, with defender Talia and on-baller Ellis named in the Vic Metro best.
A goal after three minutes to Hayden Crozier gave Vic Metro a lead it would never relinquish.
Four unanswered goals in the third quarter put paid to the match as a contest, while Vic Country's errant kicking stifled any hopes of a close finish.
